Credentials and Compliance
Are your plumbers employees or subcontractors?
Everyone who turns up to your job is part of our own team, not a subcontractor booked in for the day. That means consistent standards, consistent training and someone who's accountable to us, not just to themselves.
What should I do first if I smell gas?
Get everyone out of the house and into fresh air straight away. Don't light anything and don't try to find the leak yourself. Just get clear of the property and call us, or emergency services first if it feels severe.
What qualifications does a licensed plumber actually need in NSW?
In NSW, a plumber needs a current licence issued by NSW Fair Trading, sitting on top of a recognised trade qualification. Gas work needs its own separate licence endorsement again, so whoever works on your gas line has been assessed specifically for that, not just general plumbing.
Is it safe to try a DIY fix before you arrive?
Small, safe steps are fine: turning off a tap, placing a bucket under a drip, or shutting the water off at the meter. Anything involving gas, anything under pressure, or getting under the house in a hurry is better left until we're there.

Booking and Availability
What's the fastest way to reach you in an emergency?
Call (02) 9138 6524 directly. A real person answers, not a call centre, and we'll get the details of your emergency and start moving straight away rather than putting you through a queue.
What counts as an emergency?
Anything actively damaging your home or unsafe to leave: a burst pipe, a toilet that won't stop overflowing, no hot water in a house with young kids, or any smell of gas. If in doubt, call and describe what's happening and we'll tell you honestly if it can wait.
Do you take calls on Christmas Day and other holidays?
Yes. We're open 24 hours, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and every other public holiday, because plumbing emergencies don't check the calendar before they happen.
Do you send updates if you're running behind?
Yes. If something ahead of you runs long, we'll call to let you know rather than leaving you watching the driveway. You'll always know roughly where things stand instead of guessing.

Maroubra's Plumbing Questions
Why does Maroubra's housing era matter for plumbing repairs?
A lot of Maroubra's older housing dates to the Federation era, and homes from that period often still carry their original galvanised or earthenware pipework. That kind of plumbing was never built for modern water pressure or tree root growth, so it tends to fail suddenly rather than gradually.
Is Maroubra within your regular coverage area?
Yes, Maroubra sits right in our regular run alongside Coogee, Kingsford, Malabar, Pagewood and Matraville. We're not stretching to reach you, it's part of the same coverage we service every week.
Do you get called to Maroubra often?
Regularly, especially around the coastal stretch near the beach, where storms and big swells put extra strain on stormwater drains. We're also a familiar face near Maroubra Junction and the McKeon Street shops, simply from being out this way so often.
How often should older Maroubra homes get their plumbing checked?
For a Federation-era home, a check every year or two is a sensible habit, especially for anything hidden under the house or behind walls. Catching a tired old pipe before it bursts is a lot less disruptive than dealing with the flood afterwards.

Money, Fair Pricing and the $0 Call Out Fee
Do you price jobs individually or off a rate card?
Every quote is worked out for your specific job, not pulled from a fixed rate card. We look at what's actually wrong, what it will take to fix properly, and price that job on its own merits.
Two seemingly identical jobs can cost differently depending on access, pipe age or how a previous repair was done.
Do you charge more for older homes or hard-to-reach pipes?
Access and age can affect how long a job takes, and time is part of any honest quote. An older home with tight subfloor access might take longer than a straightforward job in a newer build, and we'll explain that difference before we start, not after.
Do returning customers get a better price?
We don't run an ongoing loyalty scheme, but every customer, new or returning, gets the same fair, upfront pricing and honest look at the problem. New customers also get $65 off their first service, and if you've called us before, we already know your place, which speeds things along.
What happens if the job turns out bigger than quoted?
If we get into the job and find something bigger than expected, hidden corrosion or a second broken section, we stop and explain what's changed. You'll see a revised, fair price and get the chance to approve it before we go any further. Nothing extra happens without your sign-off.
